Eighth Graders Perform 'Witness for the Prosecution'

The cast and set design crew of "Witness for the Prosecution"
The Eighth Grade performance of "Witness for the Prosecution" on February 24 and 25 had the audience guessing until the very last moment about the identity of the murderer who killed Emily French, played by Joanna Douglas, a wealthy, middle-aged lady living alone with her devoted maid, played by Camilla Cabot.

The story, based on the Agatha Christie classic, took many twists and turns until the very end of the play when the identity of the murderer was finally revealed.

When Leonard Vole (Jason Hooker) is arrested for the sensational murder, the famous attorney Lady Winifred Robarts (Katherine Dutile), agrees to argue in court on his behalf.

As evidence is presented in the case, Vole's only alibi witness is his calm, coldly calculating wife Romaine Vole, played by Haley Olmstead, whose tears while testifying seem completely believable.

The play goes back in forth in time, using different parts of the stage to create flashbacks as the witnesses relate their testimony.

Don't miss the second performance tonight, Thursday, February 25, at 7:30 p.m. in the Lowell Center.
